Product Description

FLUORITE

INDUCTION

Fluorite is the only mineral that can be extracted in large quantities fluorine. It is also used as a cosolvent in steelmaking to remove impurities. The mineral is also used in the production of glass and enamel. In addition, there is a high demand for fluorite in the optical field. Its synthetic crystals can be grown into a variety of lenses. For example, a camera lens made of fluorite has a very low dispersion, so the lens polished from it has less chromatic aberration than a lens made of ordinary glass

APPLICATION
I. Metallurgical industry
Fluorite is a very important flux in metallurgy. In the steelmaking process, the addition of fluorite can reduce the melting point of slag and increase the fluidity of slag, thus helping to remove impurities in steel, such as sulfur and phosphorus and other harmful substances. At the same time, in the smelting of non-ferrous metals (such as aluminum, copper, etc.), fluorite also plays a similar role to improve the smelting efficiency and the purity of the metal.

II. Chemical industry
Fluorite is the main raw material for acid production. It is a kind of inorganic acid with strong corrosion, which is widely used in many fields such as petrochemical industry and electronic industry.

III. Building materials industry
1. Glass manufacturing
In glass production, fluorite is used as a flux and a sunshade. It can reduce the melting temperature of glass, improve the transparency and refractive index of glass, and also improve the thermal stability and mechanical properties of glass.
2. Cement production
Fluorite can be added as a mineralization agent in the cement production process, which can promote the decomposition of calcium carbonate and improve the quality and yield of cement clinker.

IV. Optical field
Fluorite has excellent optical properties such as low dispersion and low refractive index, and is an important material for manufacturing optical instruments. For example, in the manufacturing of high-end optical devices such as microscopes and telescopes, fluorite lenses are able to improve the clarity and resolution of imaging.

V. Ceramic industry
Fluorite can be used as flux and opalescence agent in ceramic production. It can reduce the sintering temperature of ceramics, improve the texture and color of ceramics, and improve the quality of ceramic products.

VI. Machinery industry
Fluorite can be used as a flux in the manufacture of cast steel (iron) to improve the fluidity of the metal during the casting process, making the castings more compact and reducing defects.

VII. Electronics industry
In the electronics industry, fluorite is used to make etchings for electronic components such as integrated circuits and transistors. In addition, some organic compounds are also important materials in the electronics industry, and the synthesis of these organic compounds is often inseparable from fluorite.

VIII. Aerospace and aviation
In the aerospace field, some high-performance materials (such as special alloys, coatings, etc. Require the use of fluorinated compounds, and fluorite is the source of these fluorinated compounds, thus indirectly supporting the aerospace industry.

IX. Environmental protection
Fluorite also has some applications in environmental protection. For example, some fluoride can be used as adsorbent or catalyst in air pollution control to remove harmful substances in exhaust gas.
