Product Description
Nepheline is a mineral whose main component is calcium silicate (CaSiO3). In nature, nepheline is commonly found in basalt, andesite, serpentine and other rocks, and can also be found in strata and metamorphic rocks. Because of its diverse colors and unique shapes, nepheline is widely used in ceramic glazes.
Application
1. Special role in glazed tile
Due to the low firing temperature and the low ceramicization temperature of the body and the high water absorption rate of the body, the glazed brick is easy to cause the fatal weaknesses of the crystal body, such as the low expansion coefficient of the crystal body, the cracking of the enamel, the moisture absorption expansion of the body, the rebound of the body and the peeling of the enamel. The use of nepheline powder in glazed brick body is helpful to improve the degree of porcelain and the expansion coefficient of low temperature brick body. Strengthen the bonding degree of blank glaze, broaden the use range of glazed tile, increase sales and so on.
2. Unique role in wear-resistant brick and polished brick body
Wear-resistant brick and polished brick are both vitrified bricks. The addition of nepheline powder has the following important functions:
a. Improve the speed of mass and heat transfer, contribute to the expulsion of water and burning loss and the diffusion of heat, contribute to rapid drying and rapid burning;
b. Relatively high aluminum content, help to broaden the firing temperature range, reduce deformation and other quality defects;
c. The high degree of mutual fusion of potassium and sodium makes the billet translucent, so that wear-resistant bricks and polished bricks have a unique texture;
d. Potassium and sodium are beneficial to body coloring, can enrich the product variety, reduce the amount of color;
e. nepheline can also overcome the quality defects of polished brick rebound after throwing.
3.Unique role in exterior wall brick body
Nepheline in the exterior wall brick body also has the following unique roles:
a, the introduction of nepheline, talc, wollastonite external wall brick body, in the firing process will produce a self-releasing glaze phenomenon, this self-releasing glaze is matte transparent. Using the exterior wall brick to decorate the wall has a unique texture and light sense;
b, the use of nephelinite-infused formula to produce cultural stone for external wall bricks, more like natural granite, aplite and diabase.
5.Unique role in sanitary ware body
Traditional sanitary ware has long drying cycle, long firing cycle and high firing temperature. The addition of nepheline can improve the specific gravity and flow rate of mud, accelerate the absorption of water by gypsum, as well as the expulsion of water, and improve the stiffness of the body, nepheline also has a unique role in reducing the firing temperature of sanitary ware and the transparency of the porcelain body during the firing cycle.
6.Role in low temperature glazes
The combination of nephelite with boromite, lead-zinc ore and lithic feldspar at low temperature can prepare a variety of glazes fired at 1120~1180ºC, and can make the white glaze delicate and soft, rich texture.
7.Application in frit production
Using nepheline instead of potassium and albite to fire frit can use less or no soda saltpeter, thus reducing the corrosion of soda saltpeter on the refractory material of the furnace wall. In addition, the emission of toxic gases such as NO can be avoided.
