Caustic calcined magnesium is magnesite, magnesite and magnesium hydroxide extracted from seawater or brine calcined at about 800~1000ºC to decompose and discharge CO2 or H2O, namely, caustic calcined magnesium powder, also known as caustic calcined magnesium oxide, caustic magnesium oxide, commonly known as bitter earth powder. Light burned magnesium powder has loose texture and large chemical activity, which can be used to manufacture magnesium cement, magnesite building materials, heat insulation materials, etc., as well as intermediate products of high quality magnesia by two-step calcination method.
The largest use in agriculture is as fertilizer and feed for livestock, is a major element in plant and animal metabolic processes, and is used as feed for dairy cows.
